Special issue of Nanotechnology featuring papers from
the 9th International Conference on Non-Contact Atomic Force Microscopy,
Kobe, Japan, 16-20 July 2006

Full-length original research papers presented at the the 9th International Conference on Non-contact Atomic Force Microscopy, Kobe, Japan, 16-20 July 2006, will be considered for inclusion in a Special Issue of Nanotechnology. All papers will be refereed according to the usual standard of quality for the journal.

We expect an average length of submitted papers to be between 5 and 9 journal pages assuming about 900 words per page (figures and diagrams to count as approximately 200 words).

Print publication date, assuming deadlines are met, is March 2007. Please note that papers will be published online as soon as they are ready in advance of print version. As a service to authors and to the international physics community, all papers will be freely available online for 30 days from their electronic publication date. This means open access for citations to everyone in the world.

How to submit

Our preferred method of submission is through the web. Please go to . From this page you should do one of the following:

  • Authors with a personal IOPP author homepage
    From the web page you should select 'login' and submit your article in the normal way. Authors with a personal IOPP homepage can, if they wish, speed up the reviewing procedure by choosing to build their own PDF online as part of the submission process.
  • Authors without a personal IOPP author homepage
    From the web page you should select the 'Submit an article' link which will guide you through our submission process. This procedure will send your files to our Electronic Submissions team who will process your files and forward them to Nanotechnology. Once this is done, a personal homepage will be set up for you, providing access to extra services. Details will be supplied in an e-mail.

All authors please note: When filling in the submission web form please include the words 'NC-AFM06' in the special issue details field which is about halfway down the form. Please also include an Article Submission Form which can be downloaded from Guidelines for Authors (.doc) (.pdf).
